The perfect mix of sweet and savory, Jayda Atkinson is a force of nature. She touches the hearts, souls, and stomachs of people from all walks of life - the homeless, house moms, executives, families, and everyone in between - through lessons from her tough past and candid life guidance conversations over mouthwatering Cajun meals.
The mother of four and unofficial mother to many, Jayda has overcome homelessness, teen pregnancy, family drug addiction, domestic abuse, and a failed marriage to stand as a testimony and teacher to people hungry for love, clarity, and understanding of their greater purpose.
At age 7, Jayda first experienced the power of home-cooked meals cooking authentic New Orleans comfort food in her step-grandmother's kitchen. The time they spent together taught Jayda that good meals help people open up during bad times. Little did she know this was the training ground for her life work – merging cooking with life coaching. Jayda’s non-profit career started with feeding the homeless outside of her hotel room after losing everything in Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Upon settling in Atlanta, Jayda quickly became a popular chef for major events and celebrities such as Faith Evans, Usher, Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta, Taye Diggs, and Jasmine Guy. Her biggest accomplishment outside of her children are feeding souls and stomachs and empowering others to live their purpose to the fullest with purpose and love. She continues to give back to the homeless and less fortunate through her nonprofit LOVE LIVES FOUNDATION.
Today Jayda is emerging as a magnetic personality across multiple platforms, including books, television, social media, and speaking events. She is the author of ABCs: FEEDING THE BODY AND SPIRIT, a cookbook devotional, and STORM CHASER, a pull-no-punches autobiography that chronicles her turbulent past while giving others guidance and hope for healing, self-love, and forgiveness. Jayda is also an on-camera talent with Reality Revolution, a development company that matches premium talent with transformation reality TV concepts and social action campaigns.

My life has been one of always caring for others and as long as there is breath in my body I will to give back and pour belief into others. God has created me for a purpose and I know that I can make a difference for one person. That is what drives me every day! I am on purpose and powerful and I will always thrive for excellence in all that I do! My story began over 25 years ago when I fell in love with a man that I thought was the man of my dreams.
Within the first 8 months of marriage and with twin infant baby boys I discovered he was cheating on me. I was so devastated and packed up my babies and our home in Ohio and returned back to Louisiana. After taking him back, the emotional abuse continued for over 20 years. My goal is to help other women understand they have a choice. I was caught in a relationship that was so toxic and emotional abusive I lost myself.
In the process my children suffered emotionally and to this day they refuse to get married. My experience taught me a lot and that staying for the children may not be a good thing. My husband was thriving in his professional life and I paid the price with every affair he had and I lost myself. I turned to a shopping addiction that later would cause me to file a personal bankruptcy at the age of 30 years old. I was not getting what I needed so I would shop to ease my pain. I got help for that, thank God and learned a lot about why I was doing that.
The funny think is now I manage every penny. In 2009 our entire family moved to the UAE with my husband again to further his career goals and dreams. I walked away from everything with our children and we moved 10,000 miles away. After one year there I was told of his visits to brothels and that was the last straw. My daughter was a senior in high school and I made my plan. Within 2 weeks I secured a full time contract job with a very big UK law firm.
On October 1st 2010 I walked out with my dog and the clothes on my back. IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST DEFINING MOMENTS IN MY LIFE! AND I WAS SCARED TO DEATH! But I knew God had a plan for me and I had to walk in fait. I finally started dreaming for myself! I had to start praying for God to show me why I endured 20 years of abuse and how I could help others understand that they don't have to continue in pain when there is a choice!
Courage is more than a word. To me it is having the ability to walk away into the unknown in a place where you have no idea what the future is. I have been told that I am so strong because I walked away and remained there alone. But the reality is my daughter was there in high school and then did her first year of college in Dubai. My purpose at that time was to be there for her physically and emotionally.
*****This is just a snap shot of my story it continues****
